Like colorful lipstick or busy backgrounds, large necklaces and hoop earrings tend to be distracting in professional headshots. The focus should be on your facial expressions, not the accessories you’re wearing. Consider leaving your pearls at home for your headshot session.

If you want to wear earrings or a necklace, keep them subtle. A nice pair of diamond studs or a simple pendant necklace can go a long way and add a personal touch to your professional headshot.
