Since 2020, DeMayne has provided free headshots to unemployed job seekers through his Shoot Forward initiative.
DeMayne founded Shoot Forward to lift spirits during the widespread layoffs of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since its inception, he has donated thousands of headshots at job fairs & community events across NE Ohio.
“Losing a job can take a toll on one’s mental health. I provide free headshots because I’ve seen firsthand how my work empowers people,” says DeMayne.
“A headshot is more than a picture—it’s an opportunity to uplift others, build confidence, and help people stand tall in the face of adversity,” DeMayne adds.
In a recent LinkedIn survey, over 200 HR professionals, business owners, and hiring managers were asked about the importance of a headshot or profile picture on LinkedIn.
79% of those surveyed said they overlook candidates without a picture on their LinkedIn profile.
96% of respondents rank profiles with a professional headshot higher than those without.
An alarming 71% admitted to rejecting a candidate at least once based on their profile picture alone.
We work with companies and non-profits to provide free headshots to the unemployed at job fairs and community events in NE Ohio.
