In my many years of experience shooting professional headshots, I’ve found that when it comes to jewelry in headshot photography, less is more. Like colorful lipstick or backgrounds, large necklaces and hoop earrings tend to be distracting in professional headshots. The focus should be on your facial expressions, not the accessories you’re wearing. Leave the pearls at home for your headshot session.
If you want to wear earrings or a necklace, keep them subtle. A nice pair of diamond studs or a simple pendant necklace can go a long way and add a personal touch to your professional headshot.
